Last post for the year in total I have managed 154 figures, virtually three every week despite a lot of travel with work (over 20 outbound flights this year). I also managed to mainly stick to projects in hand and not buy many figures. I have the otherworld miniatures indiegogo figures but still waiting the second batch. I love these figures and would have bought more if not put off by the delays with the indiegogo delivery. So totals for the year are:- Call Of Cthulhu 37 Darkest Africa 8 Mahdists 4 USA WW2 12 Modern Zombies 4 Fantasy RPG 89 154 The call of cthulhu stuff is mainly 1920's adventurers which I finished off, but also include a few monsters, pictures will follow.   Gaiming wise apart from SEEMS I played in 6-8 games including WW2 skirmish using the TWAT rules and a Sudan TSATF, which I negected to take pictures of....

What with otherworld miniatures ( http://www.otherworld.me.uk/store.html ) having a 20% off sale and my eclectic painting table I thought I would pin down exactly what my projects/targets are for 2011. Projects I want to complete but I have no idea what I will do with them once I have a significant number of figures painted Otherworld/D&D painting is a childhood project which now my painting standard has improved I feel capable of making some steps with. No idea what I will do with the figures once they are painted though. Just know I am buying them faster than I am painting. I will add to this my collection of Dark Sun figures which I would like to paint some time. Modern zombie apocalypse, been working on this with the odd Z for numerous year, now there are loads of rule sets and figures available I should really finish off the 44 I have, giving me around 100 z’s,   my biker gang and a few others. The proof of my inability to focus is on the painting table. The following 75% finished figures, 3 Saxons, 2 modern zombies, 3 Darkest africa, 1 Elf mage (who has been there at least 4 months).   Also one modern character in a wheelchair (a very welcome gift), one sudan mounted dervish, 1 acw figure (think he is there as I found him on the floor), 2 snakes, 2 wolfs a vampire and a dreg (for mordheim). It is about time this blog was relaunched so here it is. The aim will be for a bi weekly post of what I am up to and anything intersting, but who knows.

Project Zulu was cancelled as the order never arrived and I got distracted with other projects and cancelled the order. Still tempted however Looking at the positive But since cancelling the project I did finish my 15mm PITs British Foot army and purchased the dervishes who are based and some even partially painted, should be able to knock these out once I get going Other painting this year has included a couple of Parrom Station Miniatures Martians bought 3 years ago at Salute. In total the first quarter was only 35 figures including;- Perry Miniature Mahdi, pack donkeys and adventurers for Darkest Africa and a few Chinese for BOB. Hopefully get some figures up soon. Back in 1987 I started toying with doing some colonial wargaming but my will was not strong. Over the last few years I’ve started painting irregularly and to a good standard. So for 2006 I thought I’d go for just one plan and stick to it. Obviously it should be finish off my Sudan stuff or go for a more formal Modern Zombies game or Back of Beyond, or finish my Warhammer Empire army, or 15mm PITS stuff. But no, harking back to my 1987 interest in the Zulu wars I have decided that my first six months of 2006 will be building a Zulu and British army for DBA. That’s apx 72 figures in 6 months, well within my capability. I’ve already test painted 3 zulu’s and am quite pleased with the results. Plan is to paint the figures and then base them, hopefully making the bases reasonably scenic. The plan is no figure purchases 2006 until I finish the Zulu’s. The other army that will be finished is my 15mm DBA moors. The second project for 2006 will then be Sudan using Perry miniature Brit...

My weekly updates just haven’t happened but I have got a few things done. They include 12 WW British, a number of darkest Africa, a few modern zombies and some 25 mm Sudan stuff, Photo’s to follow. I also bought Dog Town rpg which I am struggling to read, hopefully I’ll get back into it and get around to running a game next year.

A week gone by. Starship troopers have arrived but I have done nothing with it except open the box. Have painted the base colours on most of my PITS figures (paint ran out : ( ) , plus a few red coats/blue trousers, just got to work out what is the best bulk painting method for these. Did one test paint of a WW2 British, is ok if not a little too dark for my tastes, this could be the black undercoat or that I am mixing the colours too dark to start with, need to experiment. Also painted up the base colours for my Back Of Beyond Chinese executioners and may well finish painting up them before doing much else. These are using the new lighter base colour scheme rather than my usual colours. Once I paint these, the commanders and Russian command may go for an army, cavalry first, this period just keeps calling too me. Probably 2-3 hours spent on miniatures this week. Next to no painting done for over a week. Went to Selwg over the weekend which was good as usual although once again seemed to be fewer people there and this year it was only on tow floors. Bought a number of pieces of painted terrain, including a 25mm Church, Barricades for Mordhiem and 3 15mm far east buildings fro Patrols in the sudan. Was also tempted by some lovely 25mm Colonial flags but at £4 each felt they were just a bit too expensive. I did try to avoid buying figures but fell into the trap of finally buying some 25mm Bolt Action Miniatures ww2 British, which I based this morning. Target over the next week or so is to paint up the WW2 British and return to the PITS British, who’s original target date for completion was end October.

Not done too much in way of gaming. Finished off a few more jungle terrain area’s and toyed with buying some GW jungle terrain as I am finding it difficult to find anyone who is supplying decent alternatives. The £20 price is daunting. Still being tempted by Starship Trooper miniatures game and might have sourced a cheap copy, fingers crossed. Darkest Africa My Masai now own spears as I managed to get a batch of ebay. Only problem is now I have 42 more figures to paint. Will probably buy the Masai village from Grand Manner at Selwg Club Game Play ACW the other night in an interesting defensive position which was difficult to hold. Fortunately the British held their scots back superbly but when breaching the second defensive position did not get enough men in support and with the aid of our unusually effective Militia we managed to hold and win the game. Target Target this weekend is to finish off the Mordheim Buildings, probably 2-3 hours work.

This is the start of my online diary listing my aims, goals and achievements with regard to my hobby of wargaming.
